| Narrow Band Filter Imaging Gallery: Imaging and Processing: Michael DeMita Thanks to my fellow science/RC/IT buff Greg Myers for all the help with data collection, my wife for putting up with me not sleeping and, of course, the community of experts on the forums and at cloudynights for help getting into this hobby in short fashion. |

| The California Nebula - Narrow Band Hubble Palette 2x2-Panel - 2 camera Mosaic The California Nebula (NGC 1499) is an emission nebula located in the constellation Perseus. It is so named because it appears to resemble the outline of the US State of California on long exposure photographs. It is almost 2.5° long on the sky and, because of its very low surface brightness, it is extremely difficult to observe visually. Done with the following equipment: - Tak FSQ-106 reduced with a Trius 814 mono camera - two frame 'detail' insertion mosaic - EF200 Canon lens with a SXVR-H694 camera - two frame wide field mosaic |
